The Annual Southern Arizona Tech + Business Expo is one of the Arizona Technology Council’s premier events each year, where industry leaders and tech enthusiasts gather to showcase and celebrate the advances and innovations throughout the past year. The Arizona Technology Council works tirelessly to facilitate resources for the Arizona tech ecosystem to network, learn, and celebrate together.
Marcus Engineering was one of over 300 business and tech leaders that gathered to celebrate the Ninth Annual Southern Arizona Tech + Business Expo at the Tucson Convention Center on October 6th.
The evening was filled with excitement as we recognized and celebrated new and trending contributions across Southern Arizona’s tech industries. The event consisted of a lively Keynote Fireside Chat: Who’s in the Driver’s Seat? The Future of Transportation, Innovator Presentations from eSentire and VIAVI Solutions who are two of Arizona’s top companies leading innovation. Followed by Recognizing Excellence in Southern Arizona Awards Ceremony where UACI Startup Sylvan Source (SSI) won Startup of the Year Award, UofA Professor and Inventor Dr. Jim Schwiegerling won Innovation Leader of the Year Award, AGM Container Controls won Southern Arizona Member Organization of the Year Award, Leonard won Sustainability Award, and Arete won Manufacturer of the Year Award. We closed out the evening with an Exhibition Tech Mixer Reception that showcased the amazing technologies of local companies.
Dr. Patrick Marcus, President of Marcus Engineering shared, “Southern Arizona has been an underappreciated tech and manufacturing hub for decades. The Expo is a great reminder that Southern Arizona is a significant player and that our tech ecosystem is a lush oasis in the hard desert climate.” Community involvement is core to Marcus Engineering culture, and our rich engagement in the Arizona Technology Council, is one of the community platforms that provides opportunities, such as the Annual Southern Arizona Tech + Business Expo, to explore and contribute to the broad scope of Southern Arizona’s tech community.
